Kyrgyz National University’s (KNU) MBBS program is a collaborative MBBS (MDPhysician equivalent) course of Yenepoya University (India) and Kyrgyz National University Kyrgyzstan. The program is intended for international students (mainly from India) and is delivered in English.
Duration & Curriculum
- Total duration: 6 years — typically 5 years of preclinical + clinical training, followed by a 1year internship (clinical internship).
- The curriculum aims to align with international medical standards (including guidelines set by various bodies) and with enough clinical exposure.
- There is provision for clinical observerships or rotations (e.g. a one‐month observership in India at Yenepoya Medical College) to give exposure in Indian medical settings.
Recognition & Career Prospects
- Recognized by Indian regulatory bodies (such as National Medical Commission / NMC), and international bodies (WHO etc.), so that degree holders have eligibility for taking exams like FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) in India, or other licensing exams depending on destination country.
- After completing the degree + internship + passing required licensing (e.g. FMGE / NEXT in India), the graduates are eligible to practice in India, or pursue further studies / specialization.
